Otoe-Missouria Day

Otoe-Missouria Day is celebrated annually on September 21st to welcome the Otoe-Missouria people back to their ancestral homeland in the Lincoln, Nebraska area. The day commemorates the land that the Otoe-Missouria nation ceded that became the university and city of Lincoln.

The third annual homecoming celebration will take place Sept. 20-22 in Lincoln and the surrounding area. This event is part of our Walking in the Footsteps of our Ancestors project, funded by the Mellon Foundation.
